     James E. “Jim” Thomason, 66, of Peoria, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011, at The University of Chicago Medical Center, after a long battle with heart problems.
    
A memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2011, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria.
    
Jim was born in Peoria on September 18, 1944, a son of Lawrence E. and Lucille Mary (Peters) Thomason. They preceded him in death, along with a nephew, Michael James Thomason.
    
He is survived by his brother, John K. “Butch” Thomason of Arizona; nieces, Angela M. Donohue of Metamora and Amy L. (Jay) Schierer of Peoria; and nephew, John P. Thomason of Peoria.
    
Jim retired from Hagerty Steel in East Peoria and was formerly employed with Pabst Brewing Company in Peoria Heights.
    
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was honorably discharged on September 14, 1967 as a Sergeant.
    
Jim loved working in his yard and on his house.
    
Memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.

I went to grade school with John and sometimes ran around together. John, I did not know that you were living in Arizona. How do you like the heat ?

 I would like to express my sympathy to the family of Jimmy Thomason , especially to his brother, Butch, and his nieces, Angie and Amy, and his nephew, J.T.
